Annie Jr Production

The community of Abbs Cross Academy performed a production of Annie JR, MTI Edition.  Annie JR. follows the story of an orphan named Annie living a “hard-knock life” at The New York City Municipal Orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. Annie dreams of being reunited with her parents and takes action to find them. In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan's evil machinations, befriends President Franklin Roosevelt and finds a new family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary Grace Farrell and a lovable mutt named Sandy.

We started our production journey with auditions in September 2026 and have worked together for over 70 hours: after school, during lunchtimes, in technical and dress rehearsals, putting together what promises to be one of the best shows yet.  For some members of The Annie JR cast, this is the first school production they have been a part of – and what a way to begin! 

This show would not be possible without its terrific cast, who have worked tirelessly in rehearsals and learning lines at ridiculous speed!  Every student has grown in confidence and skill, learning songs and choreography. 

Not only did students get involved with the performances, we had a fantastic tech team who pulled together to organise set design, lighting and sound. The production could not have run without them.

The performing arts team at Abbs Cross Academy is extremely proud of our students and how hard they worked. We can not wait for our next production next year.
