March 11th 2026

On Monday 10th March, the Year 7 netball team took part in the Havering Borough Netball Rally held at Hornchurch High School. The day began with sunshine and ended in rain, but this did not dampen the enthusiasm and determination of the team.

Our first game was against Harris Academy and provided a great introduction to tournament netball. Kyra, playing as Goal Attack, had an excellent game and scored some fantastic goals. The opening match ended in a 3–2 win for Abbs Cross. Catalina also demonstrated a strong understanding of centre court play and helped keep the team moving well throughout the game.

During the second game against Coopers, Matilda performed extremely well as Goal Shooter, while Zainab worked tirelessly in defence, protecting the goal circle and making some important interceptions. The score line did not reflect the possession with a loss of 8 goals to 1.

In the third game we faced Hall Mead, which proved to be another challenging match and unfortunately resulted in a defeat. Our game against Gaynes saw the team struggle slightly with passing and receiving, which meant possession was lost on several occasions. Ultimately resulting in a loss.

The match against Emerson Park was very evenly contested and finished in a 3–3 draw. Our final game, against Frances Bardsley, also ended in a draw. There was excellent defensive play from Kate and Zainab, while Harriet linked well with Kyra and Maisie, delivering some great feeds into the circle from Wing Attack.

Well done to all the girls who took part. It was a fantastic introduction to Havering Borough netball this year and there is plenty to build on for the future. Congratulations to the players who attend training each week and continue to show great commitment and teamwork. We look forward to seeing the team develop even further next year.
