KS4 Badminton compete in Havering Borough competition

The KS4 Badminton teams participated in the Havering Borough competition at Harrow Lodge Sports Centre. After finishing 2nd in the competition last year the team had set their standards high.

Both the A team and B team played against Hall Mead, Campion, Coopers, Emerson Park and Royal Liberty.  With Abbs Cross A beating Coopers B, Royal Liberty and Hall Mead A 5-0 in the group, advancing to the next stage and beating Campion B 4-1. In the semi-finals we met Coopers A and unfortunately lost, leading us to meet Emerson Park B in the 3rd/4th Place Play-Off. After going 2-0 down Abbs Cross A dug in deep and won the series 3-2 and finishing 3rd place overall.

The B team were placed into a tough group stage and advanced to the plate competition beating Emerson Park A 5-0 to advance into the Plate competition final vs Hall Mead. The team was extremely focused but outplayed by Hall Mead and losing the final 4-1. A valiant effort from all students involved.
