Y8 Art trip
BackYear 8 Art students visited the newly-opened V&A East Storehouse on Wednesday 16th July 2025 as part of a reward trip organised by the Abbs Cross Art Department. Students learnt about a variety of objects from across the world as part of a guided tour including part of the façade of a demolished Brutalist East London estate and the largest Picasso work in the world, a stage cloth for the ballet Le Train Bleu. Students were asked to reflect on the role of a museum storehouse as well as the professions of people working there including conservationists, curators, information assistants and schools’ workshops leaders. Creative workshops were then run for students across lino-printmaking, collage, drawing and writing responding to their experience of what they had seen and learnt about at the V&A East Storehouse.
