On 14th November 14 students from year 10 travelled to Wadham College, part of the University of Oxford, to learn more about life at one of the world’s most prestigious universities. Students took part in lectures on philosophy and anthropology; examining evidence, debating big questions developing their analysis and reasoning skills during the sessions.
Students met current undergraduates and learnt about day to day life at the university. They also learnt about the application process and the importance of independent study and loving the subject you are reading.
- “Today has inspired me to not just aim to attend University but to look for a top flight Russell Group University that is a world leader in Dentistry” – Alicja
- “Today has lit a fire inside me to ensure I actively pursue my dream of becoming a doctor. I now see that journey isn’t one for the future but it’s a path I’m already on” – Megan
- “Looking around Oxford today made me realise that I see myself going to University and that the benefits outweigh the costs. I’m worth investing in” – Brendan
For our year 10 students this was their first taste of university life but we look forward to many more experiences like this going forward.
