On Friday 14th December, 27 Year 10 GCSE PE students had the opportunity attend the Track Cycling World Cup 2018. The event was hosted at the Olympic Velodrome in Stratford. The trip was enjoyable and enlightening as students were able to see athletes and para-athletes compete at an elite level. Students were able to visit the velodrome, and therefore visit a part of the Olympic Legacy that none of the 27 students had visited before. The trip linked to the theoretical aspect of the GCSE course by increasing the students’ knowledge of the sport of cycling, disability sport and of how sports events are hosted.
