Street Doctor

On 11th December Year 10 welcomed Street Doctor a charity which uses medical students to teach life-saving First aid skills to young people in schools around London.  In the session the students learnt a lot about how their circulatory system works and discussed the importance of blood to vital organs, the process of clotting and how to prevent blood loss should they encounter an incident on the street.  Students learnt about DRS ABC, how to keep themselves safe, prevent further blood loss and ensure that help is called quickly and appropriate information given to the emergency services.  Barely 2 days had gone by when one student involved in the workshop used her new found skills to support when a family member cut themselves on glass.
